Visa on arrival is valid for 30 days (available for most nationalities), when you plan to stay longer you’ll need to apply for a tourist visa.
New policy regarding visa extensions
From 29 august 2014 it’s possible to extend your visa (on arrival) with 30 days instead of the 7 days extension. That will mean tourists from 49 countries who enter Thailand under a 30-day visa exemption can stay for 60 days. Visitors who are entering Thailand on the 60-day tourist can also extend for 30 days more.
You can apply for this visa extension at the immigration office in Patong or Phuket Town (for most nationality’s) the price is 1,900 Thai Baht.

– Copy Pasport, visa and the departure card
– 2 Photos (pasport size)
– 1,900 Thai Baht
– Application form (available at the immigration office)
– It’s recommended to bring your flight ticket (out of the Thailand)

Visarun
Also it’s possible to do a visarun when your visa is almost expired(when you can’t get an extension at the immigration office), if you go by land you’ll get a 15-day entry stamp. (most of the visatrips are not available anymore because of the new policy)
When you travel by airplane you will get a 30-day entry stamp but it’s more expensive, for information about flight tickets you can contact us.
